Plot Summary for Mávahlátur (2001)
A delicious story set in 1950's Iceland, focuses on the evils of feminism, as experienced by traditional wives, mothers, young girls and aspiring wives 15 years before the women's movement. Freyja (Margrét Vilhjálmsdóttir) is the lead liberated woman personifying the devil returned to Iceland after several years of marriage to an American. The whole dark story shows how one by one the women who oppose liberation are won over or dispatched, all set to upbeat 1950's American barbershop quartets.
